this unit works brilliant,i run it for 2 hrs. in the morning and in this time we do all the things that need 120 v.,while my inverter/charger does its work, charging my 1000 amp battery bank
i have it for years now and it never let me down, these little kubota's rock
BT|W engine 4.5 kw., genset 2.5 kw.,witch is working out great.

I have one of these engines (EB300D), look at my short vid. Very good little diesel! You will love it....

Thanks for the reply. Last question(s). Does your unit have many hours on it? Are you still happy with it? Any problems with it? I am thinking winter diesel and an insulated enclosure with proper ventilation might allow it to start in winter.

How lon does it take to change the battery to full load?
and what is the size of your alternator? which software are you using to monitor the charge?
I am looking at a similar system. Same voltage and battery bank. Any experience starting this unit in cold weather?

yes, I live in a place that gets down to -50 F, but I only tested the unit at about 20 above. It has problems with cold weather starting due to the biodiesel that gels at about that temp. I never tried to develop a workaround for colder temps.

I have an 24 V, 896 Ah battery bank that I cycle between 28.8 V at full charge and 23.8 V which is roughly a 70% depth of discharge. This alternator is rated for 75 amps at 24 VDC but since I'm running it at about 2800 RPM, I'm only putting 65 amps into the battery bank and it has been taking between 3-4 hours to bring the batteries back to ~100% SOC. I'm capturing the RS-232 data via hyperterm on a PC, but have also used fancier software like DasyLabs to capture and plot the data streams.
