Philip Mitchell, author of The Hobbit also wrote this great version of Scramble, for the Spectrum. It rivaled Rocket Raid on the BBC and others and was surely the best version of Scramble on the Spectrum. Beam Software and Melbourne House.

  • You need to find a ZX Spectrum Emulator for your computer (Google for it). There are many. There is a link in the information to this video, which will take you to a download of the game.

  • LOL! This was one of the first games I ever bought. It cost £5.95.

It was superb. I must have spent months playing it. It also had a great "spectacular" when you beat it. The rockets were superb - thanks Philip!

Penetrator was one of my early faves and is the reason why I find myself here (at 2am in the morning). Oh God...

  • This was my first game. I was 11 but would stay up playing it till 2am (which was really late for me then) when I couldn't keep my eyes open any more. The highest bonus I remember getting was 15,000. lol

    Thanks for posting. ;)

  • Just like some others have already posted, this was also my first "real" game after I gave up copying hundreds of lines of code from the game magazines and forgetting something somewhere along the way. Got this for christmas and was about 9 or 10. Really tough game, but played it for months and months and my dad sometimes watched me at it. Great memories.

  • @EgoShredder

My other faves were Jetpac, Centipede, and Manic Miner.

Those were the days. lol :P

  • OMW this brings back so many good memories. what a fab game

  • WOW! This brought back memories. This was the first game I ever played, back in 1984 or so. My parents bought me this as a Christmasgift when I was 6 or 7 years old.. Kodus to the dude trying to get this game for his father.

  • at the end it's like destroying the death star... lol... remember playing that game on my dad's 48k... it was one of my favourites. thanks for posting.

  • I failed all my highers playing this shit all day.

  • @SpiritmanProductions

Same here, I was 12 but it was not quite my first game; that would maybe be Hungry Horace. One of the very first I played was Psion Flight Simulator which was cool.

  • Ohhh este juego es la raja¡¡¡ yo lo jugaba en un timex 2048.. increible la wea¡¡¡

    horas de diversion¡¡¡

  • Great game!
