You write this is a typical English style - can you tell a German musician the difference to Irish hornpipes? I'm playing this kind of music on the flute.

@Herrriger Well, Southern English hornpipes like this use the notes in the scale as the basis for the melody and have a steady 2/4 rhythm. Newcastle-style hornpipes - like those by James Hill - often use chordal arpeggios with chromatic runs and have a lilting, dotted quaver - hopstep - feel to them. This is a simplistic answer but the best I can do in the space available! :-)
