Im going to take delivery of an 89 CRX Si, and ive looked into a track build with light engine work and all, with the cost of the car, personally id be spending almost 10 grand. less if you take ur time to find deals and maybe used parts. you dont need alot of cash to make a fast Rex tho!
=D

Hey, for track meets and stuff, do you have to have a roll cage in your car to drive on the track?

@wajalama I had a roll bar from Autopower.

seems like a really nice racing setup.
can you estimate how much the car would be in good condition used. and then with all the parts and work
i am looking into maybe building a little racer like this. and the crx seems like a good platform.
how much was the car worth before alteration. and then after?
also. will the average garage be able to do all the work (or did you do it yourself?)
and another question. is the suspension customized(camber, etc)

Depends on the engine choice really. suspension is cheap, under $2000 for a more than capable setup (shocks, springs, sway bars, adjustable toe links, bushings, etc).
to find a shell, they go anywhere from $400-$2000 depending on where you're at. This is likely your best bet, since most modified CRXs are likely to be a wiring headache.
Never put a monetary value on a modified car, especially a CRX... you'll always hate yourself.
All work can be done with hand tools, a vice, and a hammer.

if the engine was totally stock, how were you keeping up or overtaking cars like the corvette
just very good driving?
was the suspension altered from stock

sorry, it was a B16A (160hp), but was internally stock. just intake, header, and exhaust.
suspension was springs/shocks/sway bars.
plus, your **average** driver isn't pushing their car to it's potential... that's why i was passing people.
