It does concern me that more and more Christian rappers are trying to separate themselves from Christian rap in what they veil as an attempt to more effectively reach mainstream and secular crowds. Who is the more faithful minister the one that facing persecution and social irrelevance reinvents himself to appeal to a carnal crowd or the one that preaches the unadulterated truth no matter who he s speaking to.

I heard of you first on the radio. People you can't write someone off without understanding what he's saying. He's not putting a label on himself as a "christian rapper". If he lives a christian life, of course it will be reflected in his music. I would like to see some of these reviews on R Kelly's christian songs. I love that as a young christian, I can bump my music praising God without being stuck in one genre. People can rap about money and debauchery why not rap about our walk with God??

I would point out that there are probably a lot of Christians who are actors in the T.V. and movie industry. Have they denied their faith by not identifying themselves as "Christian" actors? I think not. Rappers like LeCrae and Trip Lee use their influence in the rap industry to reach people from their culture. It's called contextualization of the gospel - it has been used by Missionaries and Evangelists since the church beginnings.

I don't agree.....the GOSPEL is meant for the UN-believers not the believers. However, so called Gospel artist tend to make music only for Christians and I ask, how is that accomplishing the purpose of the Gospel which is trying to win souls?! Simply put, speaking the TRUTH doesn't mean you have to be a "Christian artist" or speak "Jesus" in every song, I find it ironic that artist like Trip Lee gets more flack from Christians than non-Christians when the goal is the same....

Again, by what authority do you claim Jesus was just a man? Just because you make a statement in caps doesn't mean your words are true or hold any weight. The absolute truth of the Bible is tested and true; it tells us the nature of God, mankind, and the consequences of sin. Anything that is opposite of God's word leads to death and eternal damnation.
