The only thing I can think is Friere didn't want to take the Liquigas guy up with him where there'd then be 2 Liquigas riders in the finale. So he let the Astana guy go without him and none of them made the finale. Or maybe he was just cooked.

@tmiller9909 The commentators explain it in the video. Because the neutral support (shimano) only has wheels with a shimano group with them it always takes longer to adjust the wheel to go with a non shimano system (which was the case with brechel)

What the fuck was Friere thinking If he would of stayed with the lead group he would of beaten Eisel in the sprint. Hincapie forgot he's not riding for Columbia anymore he still rode a great leadout for Eisel though.

Another error by Hincapie - jumping way too early. His days are numbered and it's sad he didn't get this win when he was in good position.

reminded me of that example from the book "The Rider" about the two guys that hated each other so much they would do what Friere and the Liquigas guy did just to ensure that each other don't win
