Six on one TKD (tae kwon do) testing. After an hour testing workout and 3 sparring matches one on one. The goal is to survive -- not standard sparring. Fighting multiple attackers. This is not a "Full Power" drill so the head shots are pulled quite a bit - www.neffmartialarts.com

  • Brown/Black Stripe Belt. Next belt is Black. It's a much tougher testing to go to Black.

  • Ha. Thanks Kyle. Look forward to it.

  • About 3 years. I started after I snapped my ACL (Knee) in half. Had a surgery to replace it. I could hardly fully extend my leg when I started.

We generally don't go that hard in regular classes. In the "stay alive" sparring you can get away with a little rougher play.

You have to figure a way to keep a little distance or they will pile up on you.

The guys were good sports about it. I'm sure each guy will get even with me later as I spar them individually... :)

  • It's alot of fun. Unless you have actually done it -- it's hard to appreciate how much effort it takes.

It's less about "fighting" any one person and more about movement and "hit and run" to keep the attackers from getting a piece of you.

  • not bad, two standard strategys against multiple attackets - bouncing between attackers using short, fast, effective attacks, causing as much chaos in there ranks as possible and menovering your self so youre only fighting one person at a time

  • idk Ive been in gang fights before and those are brutal when youre outnumbered but I guess if it works it works thats all that matters

  • @TheRushingWind i saw it years ago ,he was a strong ,fit man with experience in a real fighting style and had lots of space to move, also the attackers were a mixture of old and young men ,none of whom ere bigger than the victim..This above vid features tkd clowns with zero real training, using limited tkd techs never seeen outside a dojang and they have no intention of hurting him. Also, the 5 didnt attack at once in the other vid, they actually took turns almost, not the usual scenario.

  • @scarred10 really now? how about 5? you not seen the real-life vid where someone who appears to be a boxer twats 5 men?

  • @2252003770744 loads martials artists claim their's is the best and some other one doesn't work. Does it look like this doesn't work? In a real fight (and truct me, I've been attacked by gangs), people are gonna attack you almost exactly like that (minus the kicks since most attackers throw punches).

  • Finally a MULTIPLE attack drill - instead of an unrealistic each-attacker-patiently-waiting-their-turn-while-calling-it-a-muttiple-attack-drill. Is this taught in all taekwondo classes?

  • @scarred10

no, in a real sparring test u try to outrun ur opponents, and then attack sporadically to keep them back, this is not some jackie chan action movie where u can lightning kick 10 guys

  • its called a gun

  • @Don123q its a truely terrible standard for a black belt and the test itself is a outright joke.No human can defend 6 men,its ridiculous to even try,you definitely cant spar them.

  • @billysue2 I train a traditional (not tkd) korean style and I know what you mean. They have no idea of a clinch, ground fighting, and how to effectively use kicks. There are methods of fighting multiple attackers, but this is not how. Plus, the full body padding makes it highly unrealistic and then to say once an opponent is on the ground that they are "out" is absurd. The way to fight multiple people is by getting yourself outside of the circle, which this "high-ranked belt" did only once.
