Guess it's high time we bring in some innovation in the way we do such choruses. The whole spirit of this amazing Bhupen da number - I am sorry to say - went down the drain :( Esp after watching Shillong Choir yesterday, as an audience - I am definitely dissappointed.

May be you are partly right. Whatever our students did in the HCU campus that day was a challenge for them. They never sang before, except that keyboard playing boy. What we did was, we had to represent Assam. Further, we don't want to compare with others. Anyway, thanks for your comments.
