India's Hindus revere monkeys - but their affection is being tested as hordes of the animals cause havoc across Delhi.
In recent days, the deputy mayor of the capital died when he fell from a balcony while trying to fight off a group of the animals.
Al Jazeera's Matt Macclure reports on Delhi's menacing monkeys.

Excellent report. Since the poor monkeys lost their natural habitat due to deforestation, they were displaced from their devastated homes to the cities, where some people now consider them as pests. The simple solution to this problem is reforestation: give back the monkeys their own natural habitat.

Toss out tons of small monkey snacks spiked with birth control pills. Then they won't reproduce so fast and you can haul off the ones that are left.

They have recently been shown to be reservoirs of infection for diseases like leprosy. They should be controlled as we do other animals in the US. Neutering, culling, etc. Can you imagine what it would be like if cats were not neutered and disposed of by the millions in the US? We could not tolerate it, and the fleas would transmit serious diseases. Yucch! Makes me sick to see these dirty animals in the garbage cans and then touching children and biting people!
