  • Straight, hardbop melody, leading into Lee's incredible solo - this is as well as I've heard him play two bop solos (one - later - is a bit of "call & answer" with Billy Higgins), and he's matched up perfectly with the great bop alto of Jackie McLean & tenor of Frank Mitchell here.

    The only imperfection is that the tune does a fade-out, at the end - hate to hear those on jazz numbers. Songwriters could do better so easily (Yes, I realize that Lee wrote THIS song.)
