  • I think Rolie was a great singer he just didn't have the distinctive pipes that Perry did (does). You always knew it was Journey on the radio from the first note Perry sang. I actually love them both together!

  • You will not see better, bands today don't even come close.

  • @fcastro63

Well "JC" gave Journey "Don't Stop Believing" and "Faithfully" before Steve Perry DECIDED to BLOW EVERYTHING UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Journey today, is just in *name* only..............

  • Amazing!

  • Great song from Journey's best album

  • @gluchnurse Their manager def. knew that Perry's voice would help sell records, so he made a smart business decision by bringing in Perry. Rolie's more prog-rock style just wasn't gonna sell.

  • Nice duet between Perry and Rolie.

  • This song was ok w/just Rolie on the vocals but w/Steve it's becomes a GREAT song. I wish they'd redone this on another album. Quite excellent. I LOVED Journey when GR was w/the band. He gave the band a richer, fuller sound on vocals and his use of the organ gave Journey a distinct sound. Much more so than w/JC.

  • @goallnight Yes, he was the core that Herbert built the band around, even though I find Herbert thinking of Neal like his 'son' a little creepy the way he always talks about him, BUT, they had 3 albums with Neal before Steve and couldn't get a single song on the radio & were about to be dropped from the label. It was Steve that brought them into commercial success, and the chemistry between Steve and Schon that was the core of the songwriting team, with extra chemistry later from Cain.

  • @fightback38 And while they would have shared the wedding and bedding routine, since Nugent was so anti substance abuse, maybe he could have helped Neal curb his alcoholism...

  • Ted Nugent was trying to get Neal for the Amboy Dukes.. He wasnt fast enough and couldnt find him before they had began to create Journey... Wow.. Ted and Neal on the same stage.. in the same band.. The resulting records would've been monsters

  • @clauditaandrea100 Break out the Afro seen!!
