allowing the ban and not allowing it. My boyfriend is a nonsmoker and I have cut back significantly. He thinks that the ban in the bars is good and i do as well. One if i decide not to smoke and go to a bar that does i dont like to come home smelling like an ashtray its nasty. on the other hand if i do decide smoke I want to be able to do it while i'm drinking inside. The fast notice about the ban on campus was ridiculous because I did not even get an email. Als a car is your private property

Hey Andy and Aaron. I am a student at Edinboro University and I am a smoker. I do not follow the ban, however i avoid people while i am smoking and walking and avoid throwing them on the ground. I think that the ban is outlandish and is illegitimate. Second hand smoke is fine in an open space, but in a enclosed space not so much. Aaron I do agree and disagree with you about the bars banning smoking. I would have to say that I am torn between allowing it for nonsmokers and allowing it for smoker.

I think smoking bans can be a good thing. There were smoking bans in all public places in Saskatchewan a few years ago. If people are smoking in their own homes or cars, that should be their own business, though. Just as long as they're not putting non smokers at risk by smoking around them.

if you believe that a government cannot dictate by law what a private citizen does in their car, do you feel the ban on cellphones use in a car without a handsfree device is also wrong?

Though it is understandable that a distracted driver may cause harm to others on the road, it is hard to gauge what is a distraction and what isn't. Should we take radios out of cars? or mirrors off sun screens? We see your point, but it is hard to mandate such actions. Thank you for raising this issue and keep watching!
