Underneath This Smile ~ Chapter 9

ALEX P.O.V

I walked into the school and right infront of me was Nick and Cassie I quickly walked by them trying not to stare and easdrop.
I opened my locker and smiled as I heard Nick laugh.
I looked at them from behind my locker door and quickly looked in my locker as I saw Nick turn and start to walk this way
I pretended to be searching for something
"hey guess what?" he said
I turned around laughing
"hey what?" he said looking in the mirror hanging in my locker
"no its just your funny when you get all excited" I said turning back to my locker
"Cassie and me are going out friday!" he said
Before I could respond he started walking away
"I'll catch you later I gotta go tell Joe" he said pratically running down the hall
I went back to my locker and looked over at the picture of me and Nick from last summer we were making silly faces in the picture.
"so you and Nick seem close" I heard Cassie's voice I turned around to face her we had never gotten along but I put on a smile.....for Nick's sake.
"we've been friends a long time" I said
"well I think he likes me..does he?" she asked
This was my chance I could totally say yeah right your crazy and ruin any chance them two had! ha!
"yeah he likes you a lot" I said faking a smile I couldn't ruin it for Nick he was head of over hills for this girl
"really? awesome" she said and walked away
I totally wanted to yell at her saying she better not hurt him in anyway and she has no idea what she has and that she better be good to him and-
and to leave him alone...because I was invisible...espcially when she was around....

(Joe's P.O.V)
I saw Kay walk in the school and I watched her go to her locker, her hair covered her face again.
I really didn't mean to get her in any kind of trouble at all we had just gone bowling, she was not worth trouble with Dave...ha nice try Joe trying to fool yourself she's so worth any trouble and you know that
"Joe are you listening"
"huh what?" I said turning to one of my "friends" Erik well what I mean is if I was at the bottom of the social chain he would make fun of me, but some times he was fun but he could be a jerk the only time I talked to him was at school.
"dude what are you looking at?" he said turning around he turned back around laughing
"yeah she's a new one...wierdo" he said
"have you talked to her?" I said
"no but Katy was talking about her at practice I guess she's just wierd" he said
Erik the football star who listened to every rumor or anything anyone said about anyone I rolled my eyes at him
Kay started walking away and I started walking after her
"dude where are you going?" I heard Erik call but I ran after Kay
"hey" I said catching up with her
She turned and looked at me she was so pretty!
"oh hey" she said and looked around the hallway almost nervously
"Im sorry about last night" she said
"oh don't worry about it no big, I wanted to come by and make sure everything was okay but I didn't want to get you in any more trouble" I said
She kinda laughed
"yeah well im glad you didn't come" she said
and I gave her a funny look
"well no I mean not like that just Dave.." she said
"its okay I get it" I said
"yeah well anyway he just needs to get to know you" she said
The bell rang
"anyway I gotta go" she said
"hey so what are you doing tomorrow night?" I quickly asked as she started to walk away
"uh I..well I've got plans" she said and walked away
I watched her walk away and headed the other way towards my class
yep she was worth it.........

KAy P.O.V
I couldnt believe I had just lied plans? what plans sit at home with cranky butt and Jeremy who knows where.....I was starting to wonder if he met friends too cause he seemed to be out a lot...but where he hadn't found a job...and that just made Dave's day let me tell you...yeah great plans Kay great plans........... my thoughts where interupted when I ran right into Katy she looked me up and down smirking
"oh hey L.O.S.E.R" she said doing a chant and walking away with her friends
I wanted to punch that girl.........Okay focus Kay class.... ha another reason not to hang out with Joe .... Dave loosing his mind was a good one.....but I didn't need anymore problems with Mrs. head cheerleader...............
I saw Alex walking my way
"hey kay!" she said
"hey" I said suprised she was talking to me
"hey so I'm pretty sure your in my journalism class but I was absent 3 days last week but someone said there was a new girl and well I was a little busy the last...few days..." she said
"yeah I have journalism right now" I said smiling
"thank goodness! I need a partner and none of the other people in my class well.......well you do the research project with me?" she asked
I smiled
"sure" I said
