  • why must you guys try decipher the sort of genre and throw a label on it, can it not just be good music?

  • Bedouin Soundclash is a nice combo. They have a very reggae and ska feel but they FUNK the shit out of their music. It's cool. If you pay attention, their really GREAT musicians, their ability to work together w/ just the beat and the sound is AMAZING and I love the vocals because he makes his voice work and it's pretty fucking original and it's not the type of voice you usually hear created to go with reggae or ska music. It's pretty badass.

  • Well guys, I interviewed Eon and Sekou last night before their gig in St Kilda, Melbourne and I wanted to clear this matter of "genre" up once and for all.

Clearly there is no "hanger" for their music at the present time. The guys themselves have said that.

So I asked if they could name the genre that they currently fit into, consisting of only them, what would they name it?

"Street Soul" Said Eon after a few moments.

"I could live with that." Said Sekou, nodding his head in appreciation.

  • Love to remix this ;)

  • @Jdhslightlystoopid1 This is true... all music must fall into a genre... If u actully look into the history of ska it comes from Jamaica... the only reason that the ska now adays have a big band sound to go along with it is because it's in a new wave... Big D and the Kids Table, Streetlight Manifesto they follow bands like the Toasters and Mighty Mighty Bosstones... Bedouin follows a diffrent school of ska... thier sound hails from the reggea legends that helped move ska

  • This band is just so smooth and chill...

  • I hate when people say, "Why throw a genre on it?" What's the point of havng genres if you aren't going to say that this music isn't part of it?

In my mind, its Funk/New wave reggae. If you don't like that, I don't give a fuck. But that's the genre I see it as.

  • @M00nChaserrr TY i wish more people were like u and me

who cares what the "genre is" thats what i tell every body and only one person listen's o how i love her for that
