Tube's anode is getting red over the time, a sign that many mA of current pass through. I don't know of how much time a vacuum tube can handle in such a situation.

Nuovamente complimenti!!!! :D
Arma ^^

Are Tesla coils always with AC?
GingleGangle1 1 year ago
@GingleGangle1
Tesla coils can run only if powered in AC with the correct frequency (determined by the values of the primary coil with his tank capacitor and the secondary coil with his self capacitance)
The vacuum tube is powered vith DC and act as oscillator with the frequency determined by the LC tamk circuit

you shouldent run the coil for a long time because you could burnout the tube. and put stress on the transformer

Don't worry.
I made some endurance test at this VTTC, the temperature of the components slowly increase and after 4 minutes they become stable.
I sometimes ran this coil for about 10 minutes continuosly without any problems; i don't design it for the maximum performances but for higher lifespan instead, this coil is 4 years old and, so far, i blown only 1 MOT and 1 diode (both overvolted during a wrong manouver)
