This tells me nothing about how to open the files in the first instance, just what might happen after you open them. Hopeless.

Absolutely correct. We don't need a fake standard that almost works across multiple programs, we need a standard that is fully implementable for any developer. A genuine standard doesn't need any "translation", it only needs implementation. Documents created in this video, made in Microsoft Office 2007, are NOT using the same OOXML that was bulldozed through the ISO voting process. M$FT has no intention of supporting open standards and doesn't know the meaning of the word "interoperability".

OOXML is a defective by design. Just another way of making everyone dependent on Microsoft. For true vendor-independent and open format just use OpenDocument Format (ODF).
