First test roll of black and white on an imported K3 clockwork camera. It looks over exposed but is not, the telecine was slightly off. Although this was a lab processed film, some chemical contamination has occured. I think it looks ok.

  • This is probably a rediculous question but I was wondering what Kodak film would be the best to achieve the classic 1940-50s b movie horror look. This looks good but is there another one that would be better for what I am looking for?

  • Not at all,In fact I dont much like Kodak 7222 as it is too clean. Foma do excellent B+W stock, let me know what you want, I can send you any amount. You could try Kodak for super 8 instead of 16, thats a nice stock.

  • I actually really like the light-drenched effect that's going on, it sets a very beautiful, summery mood to the clip. looks great.

    what is the song?

(sorry for the randomness btw, I just searched "krasnogorsk" and happened to find this.)

  • I think the song is by boom bip. If your thinking of buying a K3 I would recommend it. They are very versatile for the price, and I have to say the lens are superb and very fast.

  • It looks jumpy because of the way it uploaded, It was shot at 25fps, I dont know why but most of the stuff I have uploaded looks similar even though I have uploaded at different compression ratios. 8fps would look a hell of a lot worse than this though. Thanks for the comment you guys out there certainly like spotting the faults!!!

  • You might be looking at the telecine defect, there is a border but I dont think this is vignetting in the true sense. K3's are pretty awesome, even with several filters!

  • ! only very slightly, It is because the filters stack. I have a home transfered version somewhere which is a better light, but Im not sure I will post. BTW...I have loads of 16mm reels for sale if you good, good people are interested?

  • Cool! The overexposed look remembers me some bit of historical stuff (like 1890-1930 film reels). Really interesting and very impressive.
