@tedeubanks Man, this is perfect. Some stuff just blows me away, and this is one of them. I enjoy seeing comments on here from the guys that wrote this excellent music back in the day. It's cool to see your comment on YouTube. Thanks for this stuff.

By the way, I played that Summer organ track on a classic Farfisa. We recorded these songs in Baytown, Texas (the phase shift in Echoes of Time is manual, with the engineer shifting phase by placing his thumb on the tape). We later recorded at Huey Meaux's (the "Crazy Cajun") Sugar Hill studio. In those days most of the records were one-take, live recordings on a four track. In other words, raw.

MIKECNW, we were from Houston. We all attended Spring Branch High School, and played at a time when Houston had a number of great bands. We often played gigs with the Movin' Sidewalk (Billy G would leave to form ZZ Top), the 13th Floor Elevators, Fever Tree, etc. I believe that I must have been 15 or 16 when I wrote Summer, so, yes, it is all about being a teenager. Thanks for keeping this stuff alive.

Excellent song!
Thanks so much for the post, most importantly for the photo. I can't imagine where you dug this up. I am the geek in the front. The band members (from the left) are Keith Manlove, Danny Ogg, Chris Lyons, Terry Hord, and Bill Simons. We were still in high school when this photo was taken. Thanks for the throw back.
