Ownless - 1x1x1 meter mobile house for homeless

The Ownless unit by Dr. Joseph Cory from Geotectura and Jacob Eichbaum is transforming the homeless terminology into a hopeful term. On the same tone of the modernist sentence: less is more the Ownless unit is declaring that less is home. And indeed - why not consume less if we can maintain the basic needs and freedom of mankind. Ownless unit is first and foremost a psychological state of mind saying that being in this situation is not the end of the world but rather adjusting with optimistic approach to a new situation. You can restart from nothing and build yourself again by hanging onto the important values and letting go the wasteful style of living. The personal unit is maintaining the individual needs for privacy, a place to sleep (pulled out sleeping booth) and security. Each unit can have its own individuality through different graffiti of personal expression and protest or advertisement boards for earning extra money. It provides personal storage holder and recycle storage basket. Putting several units around a fire barrel is ideal for socializing and exchanging information. Freedom is achieved via mobility of the Ownless unit. You can move from town to town by using the hitchhiking hook to a car. Photovoltaic cells placed on top of the unit are responsible for never-ending rechargeable batteries located inside the front wheels as well as the reading lamp inside the box. This gives the homeless the ability to move not just with the built-in bike in flattened streets but also having their own non polluting vehicle able to move anywhere. The unit is simple in its loading and shipping technique and it is constructed through an economical manufacturing process using affordable materials and low-tech tools.

AND you are assuming homless = pennyless ,, MANY homeless people find some way to make money

some are excluded from housing due to

rental company's refuse to rent to a homeless people

even if we can afford it they WONT let us rent!

& yuppies imagine cheap housing lowers property values

Do you want something that ACTUALLY WORKS in YOUR city ?

start a petition, VOTE! in a new law to decriminalize homelessness

& grant the RIGHT to pay the city a small fee

to camp LEGALLY in a a properly made $50 tent

I would take a tent and put it on some ply wood with 2 bike wheels in the back...but have the wheels removable

this thing has small rear wheels there for it woudlnt be very mobile even on a rough sidewalk.
