The Children of 1948 (1/3) - Macedonian-Canadian documentary

A Macedonian-Canadian documentary by the Association of the Refugee Children from the Aegean Macedonia -
During the Greek Civil War tens of thousands of refugee children ages four to fourteen were rounded up and evacuated to Eastern Block countries (spring of 1948)- because of the fear of the monarcho-fascistic Greek soldiers and of the bombardment of the mainly ethnic Macedonian villages in the North of the Greek state with napalm bombs.
Later they were not allowed to return. Greece prepared carefully worded laws to include Greek (by genus only) and exclude Macedonian children from returning.

@Makedonier oh really?...and how it comes everything u find their is written in Greek?...i was in Pella i did see al those writings with my own eyes Makedonia is Hellenic ...your ancestors come 6th century and since then they r living in those region under otttoman empire u startet to call ur selfe Makedonians ...just like nowadays after a few Generation Americans Canadians or Aussie doing it

Macedonians are descendants of ALL the peoples who have inhabited, settled and conquered that land, since eternity. Is that so hard to accept?

The fact that they speak a Slavic language is irrelevant. They could shift to Chinese tomorrow, and they'd still be Macedonians. Most Natives in the US don't speak native languages. They're still "Indians".

My parents are from Aegian Macedonia and they are in Macedonia from 1948 like other 100000 people. I agree that they on wrong side at the moment, but i hope you are aware on your Macedonian(not Greek) past.
