In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make her All-Time Favorite Pumpkin Pie. With canned pumpkin, sweetened condensed milk, eggs,cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt, it's just the best! This is the version of pumpkin pie that I always make for Thanksgiving dinner!
Ingredients:
15 oz. can cooked pumpkin 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk 2 eggs 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Whisk pumkpkin, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, spices, and salt in medium bowl until smooth. (I used an electric mixer.) Pour into crust. Bake 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted 1 inch from crust comes out clean. Cool. Garnish as desired. Hi Betty! If I bake this today and refridgerate for tomorrow, do you think it will alter the taste in anyway? Ideally i would like to bake it tomorrow but i don't think i'll have time
No, it will be fine; I've done that many times. You just need to cover it, and remember to get it out of the refrigerator about 4 hours before serving, so that it will be at room temperature. It will be great! --Betty :)
Hi Betty: I have always made my pumpkin pies using evaporated milk and sugar, but yours looks so great, I want to try using the sweetened condensed milk instead. Also its a bit easier. Would you say they are close in taste & texture? Thanks so much.
Yes, I have made both types. They are very much alike, but I think the one with sweetened condensed milk tasttes a little betterr, and it's a little easier! Thanks for your lovely comment! --Betty :)
