The croud of course, the driver was just trying to avoid 2 ppl that were on interior curve and lost control of the RS...what do you expect from a machine with more then 500 bhp when it gets out of control? Off course an accident...

If I were in Joachim's place in Portugal 1986 I would be sure get off the car and punch the guy to death who ran cross the road in front of the car before the accident.

fafe lameirinha with the spectacular jump ( salto da pereira ); but the whole stage was insane ... i believe there could be easily 200.000 people all along that stage ( but it could be even more).... that was something that we will never see again...it's impossible to reproduce that;

its not the drivers fult.. nor the car.. imagine a freeway with a bike line on the side or one with people free to walk in it.. whos gona be at fult.. why dont people get killed in F1 races.. becouse they are standing in a safe distance.. behind the fences.. im not saying they gata put fences at the rally stages.. but people gata have enough understanding to know those guys are trying to race.. stay the hell away.. group B for the win..

yeah, the driver should've simply thought like sebastien loeb... his words were something like "for me they're all bushes, i couldn't drive these races otherwise" so whoever gets in his way's a fucking moron and on his own

joostii88 are you sure the in-car footage is from portugal?? It looks alot like in the in car footage from the San Remo rally

It's from the 1985 Portuguese Rally, I'm sure. It's close to the famous "Fafe" jump, if I'm correct.
The onboard in original status, clearly shows the "Rally Vinho Porto" sticker on the bonnet.
