I think you assume to know the culture of the region but it's you don't. They love the desert as it's part of their roots/culture. You will never find a shiekh that doesn't likethe desert. They travel elsewhere simply as it's normal to visit something different to home. Seems like you got something against that region, i won't be wasting anymore time with your views.

Maybe because we want to try something different, something new, its also about the shopping and first class environments. Everyone has different tastes and Las vegas isn't the only city to visit. The Arabian shiekhs are from that region so most of them have probably already visited Abu Dhabi so for them makes sense to visit another continent.

well,I wouldn't say (MOST) local are rich.

recently a noticeable number of them are complaining about there life..just check out studio 1 at emirates FM .. plenty of them can't find a decent job ..many of them rents houses for a big amounts of money because they don't have a house .

but however .. we still live a better life than most other countries and we should be thankful for this :)

mashalla abu dhabi is a very rich city ,however, most of its people are not rich .
