Voodoo: http://www.digilab.uni-hannover.de/download.html#download

1. Make a good lighted and high resolution Video (Higher resolution, better result)
2. Make a sequence out of pictures out of your footage. Therefore use SUPER.
3. Add this Sequence into "Voodoo". After tracking this you have sth. blender can work with.
4. Save your Tracking to a blender 2.4 file. ("File - Save - Blender Python Script - Blender 2.4x and lower")
5. Load this file into the blender 2.4 text editor.
6. Run it with "ALT + P"
7.Save your result to a normal Blender file.
8. Load this with Blender 2.60. (You have to customize Blenders layout if you are confused about 2.4 look)
Enable "Compositing" and "Sequencer" at your Post Progressing Settings. You find this in your Render Settings. Set your Horizon Color to black.
9. Open your Node Editor and add a "picture" and a "mix" node and combine everything. (Image, Render Layout, Mix and Compositor)
Set your Image-node to "Movie file" and load your footage. (You have to type the framecount of your footage.)
10. Load your Footage to your 3d-view window.
(Press "N" go to "background images" and activate it. Then load your Video to your screne)
11, If your footage has more than 250 frames you have to type the frame count of your video to the Frame Range in the Render settings.
12. If everything worked fine you can now add whatever you want to your video. Dont forget to light your scene.

Have fun.

  • shadow could have been better

  • Shadows of the trees are of blue color. I think you should have made the shadow of the object to be blue color too.

  • now THATS an 'object' alright!

  • maybe it was mentioned before but i'm a bit lazy to read all comments :) the object's shadow doesn't match the other shadows' tint in the world. you will need to make it a bit more blue-ish...

  • The shadows make it look quite realistic.
