Dialogues des Carmelites - Duet Scene - Blanche and Chevalier de la Force

Sonja Volten & Elmar Gilbertsson sing the duet scene of Act II in Francis Poulenc´s Dialogues des Carmelites in a production of "Dutch National Opera Academy" in 2007.

Chevalier de la Force visits her sister in the cloister, trying to convince her to return home to their father, for he is old and weak but she refuses for the reason she has found her calling in life, that is to become a nun in the order of the Carmelites.

I've seen this conduction of 'Dialogue' last year..It was amazing, very good voices. And the heartbreaking music of Poulenc...Truly one of the most moving opera's ever written in my opinion!

Is there a recording of this performance? Elmar Gilbertsson's voice is particularly wonderful.

Que fuerza y que sinceridad tiene esta música. Para mi es esta una de las mejores óperas del siglo XX. Es una lástima que los teatros no la programen habitualmente.

I remember reading the book a couple of years ago and cry9ng my eyes out at the end...this is AWESOME!!
