Just got my second bulletcamera and PictureInPicture-box in, so I decided to make a little video on how I ride my Quest. How to get in and out, make tight corners and press the button at the traffic lights when the raincover is on. At the traffic light, someone speaks to me, wanting to know if a have an engine. This happens pretty often, people get enthusiastic when they see me whizz by and want to know what it's all about. For those not in the know, the Quest has no engine.

Original sound, but it's not as noisy during the ride as it seems to be here. Actually the most noise comes from the air rushing by.

    What was that beeping around 5:55 and 7:15 into the video?

    Is that the turn signal?

    Is the turn signal switch(s) located near the shifter brakes set up?

    Thanks

  • Yes, its the turn signal. Both sound and a small signal light. The switch for the turn signal and the horn (both optional features, mind you) are within easy reach for your fingers, close to the shifters. You never have to reach, you can steer and switch at the same time, with both hands on the steer.

  • There is a signal light inside the cockpit? Very Cool!

    That's great that the horn and signals are close at hand when you need them.

    I will be getting both the turn signal, horn and second rear view mirror options.

    The turn signal makes so much sense and I would feel naked out on the road with out a horn and rear view mirrors.

    I will be augmenting my visibility with a 44 LED rear flasher and a pair of Ixon IQ.

    Would you recommend a clear or amber flasher off the front or perhaps a flag?

  • I forbid you to use a flag ;-) It's an aerodynamic no-go area.

    Concerning visibility lighting: I think YOU are the expert there, but I believe it must be recognizable and bright. So no red light at the front.

  • Those annotations are being inserted by me AFTER uploading to YouTube. They are not in the original uploaded file and I guess that is what you're uploading. The benefit for me is, that when I make a mistake, I can change it again online. It's also easier and more readable than the iMovie annotations. I will ponder about this....

  • Hi H@rry very nice pip, however I noticed I've looked at it briefly only a few times. Loved the little yel of the girl in the beginning where you pass the biker(s). (or was it something else?)

  • Next PIP will be bigger and left-down, this is too small. Also the pip will be mirrored, so the direction I'm looking will seem more logical. The girl was screaming very high. I hope she wasn't mad.

  • A great video, H@rry. I was surprised to see a motor vehicle on what I that was a bike trail, but apparently was a road. I'm glad you forbid mewfushisdad fro having a flag. If driven properly, a bicycle need not have a flag. He later stated that he would take the lane, so he has it right.

    Mewfushisdad, by taking the lane, you will assert your right to the roadway and drivers will accept you. Many will not realize you are operating a bike anyway!

  • OK No flags.......(-;

    I could run the Ixon IQ's at low beam so better to be seen.

    As an American I would have to say that drivers here are some of the worse in the world with a general hostile regard for cyclists.

    I have found be bright and very loud gets their attention pretty good.

    The top speed limit here on the Island is only 45 mph=72.42km.

    I will be taking the lane......(-;

    Great Video yet again.

    Monday I will finally make the transaction and order my Quest from BlueVelo in Toronto Canada.

    You have been a great inspiration through your videos in my decision to get a Quest.

    Many Thanks

  • Wonderful clip, again! Soon I will have my own experience with this rotten crossing :)

    Just wanted you to know that I downloaded your clip via DownloadHelper (Firefox) as a .flv file and your text remarks/insertions on the clips disappeared, hmmm. Same with the Opera browser (both in Linux).
