  • hey quick question

how do you set up two active speakers

  • Thanks mate, i think you saved me from making alot of expencive mistakes.

Im about to buy speakers for my DJ set up and i was looking at 15" . I know exactly what you mean. the lesson you did on ohms saved me damage aswell. I may well have hooked my speakers up wrong and done my amp in if i didn't take time to listen to you. Great lessons you have there im going to look at them all.

  • for all you amateur tools out there, bigger is not always better, for example, car stereo competitions, I have seen a single 10 inch sub with proper amplification and placement, blow away a 15 inch sub.......quality is an issue too....

  • In my experience, if you try to drive a woofer with a wimpy amplifier with a high damping factor it will result in slow, sloppy bass. In contrast, if you have a robust amplifier that can take your sub by the balls and shake it (high degree of control) it will blend with the rest of your system well. Large gauge wires help a bit as well.

  • Unless your signal going into your mix is the best it can be then there is no way that any amount of signal processing will be able to make the signal sound any better.

I bet you use a lot of Behringer equipment....

  • won't be as important.

  • 12" subs for pa are not a good idea unless horn loaded, you need 18's to get some db's. That little bit of "tightness" is not worth it. Double 18 cabinets are standard and save the 12" for horn loading.

  • "won't be that important, even though it is very very important" this guy is a tool

  • apart from speakers and microphones what else do i need for a church audience of 1000 with instruments - guitars, drums, keyboard, piano and a choir.

  • wery good I am sure its helpfull for a lot of people
