Nickel Plate #765 in Michigan - 2010

On October 16th 2010 a friend of mine and I went chasing Nickel Plate #765 from Alma to Cadillac Michigan. Here is some of that video. First we see the train pass through Shepherd, than McBain on it's trip north, and finally Shepherd again on it's trip back south.

This trip is usually pulled by Pere Marquette #1225, but 1225 is down for it's 15 year FRA mandated re-build. I believe that 765 will be the stand-in until 1225 is running again. Which from what I hear could be a couple of years.

This line is owned by the Great Lakes Central, and is the former Ann Arbor RR
