I'm 50 now (wow, how did THAT happen?), but one of the defining moments in my life was being at this concert in Passaic, NJ in '78. It was my first Springseen concert and I was absolutely blown away listing to this incredible force on stage. Yes. I was very young - and I was into Zeppelin, Neil Young and the Eagle and had NO idea who this guy was ... But, I had a ticket (if I drove my friends) and trusted them when they told me that he was incredible. It worked out.

3:14 you know, even just looking at that shot of the band, still stunned by the compact efficient power of that music collective: just 7 people on stage - drums, bass, guitar, piano, organ - plus Bruce and Clarence up front. Pound for pound one of the most formidable and dynamic bands.

I have been trying to figure out the difference with this series of shows. What I figured out was they produced the show heavy on the and and not Bruce. The other recordings are more conventional with focus on the singer. In this show and the recordings from the 19th are fantastic. Love to hear the band kicking ass. They were Rey tight that night.

Why is there no Box Set of this concert??? I sat in my home recording this on cassette tapes the night of that concert!! So wish I was there that night.

The greatest Springsteen concert to be captured.
