I have invited the greatest master of percussion, who has ever honoured our planet, to play at a company event in Zurich, Switzerland. Pls. see him playing and try to understand what value he has added to our lives, to our cultures. He has moved the percussion and rhythm scene just like James Brown has moved the western music, like Muhammad Ali has moved the sports world. Meeting him and shaking his hand was to me an unforgettable experience, i am still shaky. I am honoured and delighted to live in the same aera as he. Thank you Master Ahmet.

  • He is the ONE :) Actually I started playing darbuka after watching him on youtube, so he's kind of the source of my inspiration. Hope someday I can play as good as him

  • @octopimp right hand one tak followed by 3 with your left hand ( first finger, ring finger, first finger)...first you will feel like a duck trying to fly, with the time you will fly like an eagle and be free...good luck

  • Almost year since I began practising darbuka playing and the split hand, and I think I'm already halfway to eagle :) everyday it seems to turn smoother and smoother, so I just keep on training. Self teaching is a quite hard thing to do, pity that in my country we have 0 schools/masters who'd be able to teach mid eastern percussion. DVD and youtube is my only option for now.
