Difficult Fire Brigade Horse Rescue - Kent 2004

In the summer of 2004 Angus, a Cob weighing around half a ton, got out of his field and went down to the pond for a drink. It was a hot summer that year and the pond was very low on water. As Angus tried to reach it, he sank into the exposed soft, sticky mud at the bottom of the pond. Animal Rescue units from East Sussex and Kent Fire and Rescue Services attended and after several hours hard work, Angus was pulled free, safe and sound, much to the relief of his owner, pictured in the white tee shirt, and his pregnant mare, Coco.
