  • Well, all I could see before the view was blocked by the book being reviewed was Brandon Sanderson novels.

Oh trust me, Alcatraz is a GREAT laugh! The first book doesn't start off as strong as the others, but that Hamlet chapter in book four...that just cracks me up XD! Hope you enjoy it :).

It's a good thing my computer isn't that great, so I'm unable to get Skyrim. Morrowind is enough for me though :P. Skyward Sword is just crazy good though.

  • @enochbranard Hahaha, that's always good to know when a book takes a while to start when compared to others. It can give hope when starting a new series, haha

Haha, I ended up getting an XBox just so I could play Skyrim. Then I bought the Assassin's Creed games to go with it. Otherwise, my computer would go ka-put, lol

  • Great review :D! I'm going to try to find this book asap--it looks hilarious. Have you read the Ketty Jay series by Chris Wooding? It's basically sky pirates and banter and hilarity (and what else do you need, really? XD) I totally suggest you read that next if you're looking for something to review :) ~

  • @aculea Thank you :D

I have not heard of the Ketty Jay series, so I'll add it to my reading list to look into. Sky pirates, banter, and hilarity are always entertaining, haha.

  • I love how the "front" half of the top self is just Brandon Sanderson :). Then when you talked about the book you were reviewing, I was like "she needs to read Alcatraz Smedry". It's also a comedy series, although it satirizes YA Urban Fantasy like Harry Potter and whatnot. And it's written by Brandon Sanderson as well, so you can expect an intuitive magic system, memorable characters, great plot, and loads of witty humor.

The question is: how can I get time in when I'm busy with Zelda: SS?

  • @enochbranard Hahaha, there's Brandon, Weeks, and Brett up on that shelf. I also have the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld, and some unread books that I need to check out.

I'll add Alcatraz Smedry to my list! I always love a good laugh. Moore has a second book that stems from this one. I'll probably read that sometime next month, haha.

Time? Well, I just got Skyrim and it appears to be stealing my life away. So I've been spending at least an hour of reading and an hour of sewing each day

  • @SamiJReads Indeed. It doesn't mean it's bad, but in retrospect is seems like he knows more of what to do with the series further into it.

You should add some Deus Ex to your collection. Great fun series there. First and last time I was impressed with an FPS. (Gotta love how we're talking about video games in a book review :P)

Although speaking of Brandon Sanderson and video games, did you hear about the Mistborn videogame?

  • And by time, I mean time to read Heroics for Beginners (and also for rererereading Alcatraz Smedry now that I've reminded myself of how glorious it is).
