Dream Theater is a Grammy nominated band. They are put in the same category as bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Pantera. Like it or not, that makes them the mainstream band. Raised Fist is an obscure Swedish band. That makes them more underground. A band is no longer "underground" when they have their music in games like rock band. That alone gives them a great deal of exposure. I get what you are saying about the state of the music world but this isn't the tree you are looking for.
