The public of the Transylvania International Film Festival (www.tiff.ro) enjoys the music score composed by the guitarist Gary Lucas for the film "Dracula" (directed by George Melford, in 1931), the first film with Spanish language inserts made after the well-known Transylvanian legend, on Sunday, 30 May 2010, at Castelul Bánffy from Bonţida (the Bánffy Castle), Transylvania, Romania.
Gary Lucas, born in New York, USA, was described by the Rolling Stone magazine as "one of the best and most original guitarists in America" (David Fricke); he is an international recording artist with over 20 solo albums, he was nominated for the Grammy Awards and has worked with such artists as Jeff Buckley, Joan Osborne, Nick Cave, Lou Reed, Chris Cornell, Future Sound of London, Iggy Pop; he is the composer of the famous hit "Grace", the title track from Jeff Buckley's album, and he has also composed the soundtrack for several films, among which George Melford's "Dracula" (1931), the first screen adaptation with Spanish language title cards of the Transylvanian well-known legend.
Dracula was screened at TIFF, accompanied live by Gary Lucas, for the first time in Europe.
