@callmebackfriday2 I have practised this and I'll tell you, It may look over the top, but the guys flip around and fall because if they didn't they'd break their wrists. Put your arm out with the palm of your hand facing you then rotate it to the right and see what way your body is inclined to move in order for it not to break.

I'll agree, Seagal is a horrible actor.
However, he is one the highest names in Aikido. If I remember right he's the only westerner allowed to operate an Aikido dojo in Japan. Done right Aikido does look choreographed. It's about minimal energy expenditure with maximum results.
Go take a class sometime. I had a Sensai who would whistle why he went through the different techniques, yet, at the same time, you'd be flipping over.
