So there is no more confusion. Yes Elvis was a racist. Look up some of his old interviews. He said in a couple that "the only thing a black can do for him is shine his shoes." It does not take away from the fact that Elvis was a wonderful singer and performer, but yes he was a racist. Now I am black, but I love Elvis. I just have to face the fact that that is just how many whites thought back then, but that does not take away from his music. Elvis was great. No doubts about it.

@Yakuso The "interview" doesn't exist. That remark was supposedly made on Edward Murrow's t.v show, problem is Elvis never appeared on that show.

@musicF66 I know it was super fucked up but really??? There are celebs who have done alot worse and when they get caught on it they don't face near the conseqeuncs he's getting. 2pac for example was a rapist, woman beater, drug dealer and such and his career went along fine UNTOUCHED. Same for Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and Charlie Sheen (who was put in jail and he still is the highest paid star on one of the best shows.) I think the whole thing is hypocritical.
