Gotta love Pat Buchanan. A true conservative, not Wilsonian Great Society Republican, a real Republican. In the Cold War he was a Cold Warrior like Reagan, but once the Cold War ended there was no need for the US to remain at a Cold War posture, the Soviets were gone.

@callofduty4eva Were they also trained by the US military in torture and terrorism? At Fort Benning? The charge that they were as "bad as the Contras" is a serious charge since latin America has really seen anything as bad as the contras. But then, they trained by the best...I wonder if they run a course at Fort Benning on urinating on dead bodies?

Of course that was the US propaganda at the time. But in reality America just wanted to overthrow any government in Latin America that was not effectively a puppet of the US. Edgehead: Paul is actually the only GOP candidate that won a race last year: his congressional seat, by a huge margin. He was not the only one to vote vs. the 1964 act, McCain and others as well and voted against it as it is unconstitutional and violates property rights. He is for an end of institutional discrimination and believes in natural rights and state sovereignty. Buchanan is no anti-Semite. The fact that neither Bush nor Obama condemned the Gaza massacre is a huge embarrassment !
