RSA professional instructors? A road sign first appeared on Irish roads around '97. It read "Please Merge In Turn".I assumed it meant when two lanes merge into one vehicles must give right of way in turn. I witnessed an accident where two vehicles collided side by side when 1 of the vehicles drove close to the one in front and would not allow the one beside to merge. Mandatory tuition is just a benefit for the driving instructors to start pinching more people for money or start ripping-off people. Until the Government introduces a cap on the price a driving instructor is allowed to charge someone, only then should it come into force. EUR 30.00 per hour is a rip-off.

@udriveireland Thanks for your response . This is just an introductory video to set the scene not the whole story which will take several 15 minute videos to get across..
Sorry you find it boring..this is not meant to be a fun video of someone driving off a Cliff!(as in Top Gear)
No one is saying that 12 hours of training will equip anyone to Pass a Driving Test...,It won't! The 12 hours EDT have to be signed off by an ADI and will be spread over a number of months to allow time for Tuition
@UnknownOconnor Thanks for comment! First off Mandatory tuition does NOT benefit Driving Instructors in the short term. There is much more work to do behind the scenes which is all part of bringing the Profession to a higher Professional Standard than has been evident for the last number of years! The whole aim of EDT is to equip Learner Drivers with some essential skills which they invariably don't possess! €30 per hour is nowhere near enough to keep a well maintained car on the road Period!
