Yes, according to Robert Gruenhagen's book "Mustang", virtually ALL P-51 B, C and D's had Packard Merlin engines in them.
-
Most of the Merlin engines were Packard Merlins built under license from Rolls Royce.
-
Too true! Rolls Royce Merlin.

The owner let me sit in the cockpit of this beauty yesterday. I won't be forgetting it in a hurry, was a real treat. V kind of him.

Thank you for not adding any music - that would have shrouded the Merlin music!
Is that Lady Alice that used to be owned by Bob Jepson?

I am not sure, all I know is that the day this was film is the day it got a new owner, I can not remember his name, but I do know he bought it in Florida that day. He was heading back to California, fortunately he stop at The Bobby Chain Airport in Hattiesburg, Miss. to refuel.
If this will answer your question he said the plane was built in 1945.
