the reason to why this is fake, is easily revealed when the cameraman coughs at 1:09. There's a compression of the sounds recorded by the camera, but the "strange sound" is consistant.

@Fid3lio Good catch, I was going to follow the mixed sound with the AGC on the camera mic, but I thought I could lay down some clues for the perceptive viewer. I was honestly very surprised when people actually believed it. Very nice to see someone using the old gray.

The first sound is a reverb/delay feedback effect where the feedback is being turned on and off.
The distortion on top of the sound is also being reverberated (when it echoes, at lower volumes), meaning that the recording device is not the one clipping the sound.
Of course this could happen in nature if there is some sort of natural phenomenon that amplifies whatever is hurled at it, but I doubt it.
This is manmade for sure. I've heard enough techno and worked enough with production to tell.
