The German army is incredible, always leading the way with technology.
No wonder we got our hands on Wernher von braun to help with our space program.

"Its magazine contained only 20 rounds, meaning that it had to be constantly reloaded"
WTF kind of small arm, automatic or not, doesn't need constant reloading? Seriously... they should have said something like it had to be reloaded more frequently, therefore could cost the soldier his life while he reloaded in the face of enemy fire.

@chinesecommunist snow...a BAR in deep snow. what's your comment about it?
-
Isn't the MP-44 the STG-44 in World at War? Also known as the first assault rifle?
-
@weiliiiiiii The Germans are ahead economically but technologically, the US army is still the Most advanced in the world. The Germans own the best tank, but we helped them, and we own the Second best, The M1A1 Abrams. We also have the best navy and some even say airforce. We have UCAV's, The Comanche, Apache, AC-130, and most of all, the A-10 Warthog, the best air- to ground aircraft in the world. I dont know if you were talking about Modern or WWII, but they were in WWII.

@chinesecommunist yeah right, there are alot of people tellin you the german weapons were way ahead of the time. but in my opinion the us infantry weaponary was well balanced and fuckin sexy....
-
@chinesecommunist it is very much a good weapon, but believe me, any weapons expert would tell you that the Stg 44 or MP 44 was the best small arms of the war, maybe not as significant coz not many were made and it was only produced in 1944 but nonetheless, the best light weapon of WW2

@Silnius I gotta admit, I'm more of a karate girl, an actress, studying the Resistance: working on the first groups of young resistants, mostly Communists, in Paris,; but damn would I want to fire one of those Sturmgewehr 44 !!

-
@lesterclaypool1 well, i was talking about submachineguns. ha! xD
-
@1993heavenshallburn i was taking about machine guns
Aw hell, they didn't just say that about the BAR did they? Morons.
Sure it's heavy, but it's a monster and it's light enough for one man to carry. Tremendous penetration through wood and thin metal with the AP ammo, easily controlled and accurate, tough as hell, etc...
A fine rifle in every way.

the BAR was an odd weapon. Not an assualt weapon or a true light machine gun. However it's 7.62x63mm is very impressive. To think this was desgined in WW1 is amazing!
