Thousands of Nepalese soldiers who fought as part of the British Army will now be allowed to settle in the country they fought for.

The Gurkhas have served in the British military for nearly 200 years but those who retired before 1997 have not been allowed to apply for British residency.

Al Jazeeras Alan Fisher reports on their fight to stay in Britain.
