Michael Coffman, Ph.D.
Born in 1943, Dr. Michael S. Coffman received his BS in Forestry and MS in Biology at Northern Arizona University at and his Ph.D. in Forest Science at the University of Idaho at Moscow in 1966,1967, and 1970 respectively. Since then he has become a respected scientist and ecologist who was involved in ecosystem research for over twenty years in both academia and industry. He taught courses and conducted research in forest ecology and forest community dynamics for ten years at Michigan Technological University--a leading forestry school in the Midwest. While there, he published a book on forest ecosystem classification in Upper Michigan and Northern Wisconsin, which has become the standard for classification in the region. He also assisted the U.S. Forest Service in developing an Ecological Land Classification System for each of the National Forests in Region-9.

The sun is just getting hotter, by 2012 scientists say the sun will cause a huge solar storm that could take out all our satellites and power grids. It could just be another y2k scare but there are a lot of top scientists that are talking about it. We aren't so great that we can control the earth or the sun. The earth and sun control us. Nature puts out more carbon than man ever could and just because we sacrifice ourselves for the earth doesn't mean other countries like China will follow.

None of the icy moons have melted now. Sun doesn't even have the power to melt ice that far, no matter if it increased its radiation output multiple times! It is considered possible they have water under the ice cover, because the gravity pull of the gas giants and other moons.

Mars is considered getting warmer due it's axis tilting, which it does continuosly.

The 37,000 scientists who signed a petition, are not scientists related to geophysical sceinces. They are scientists from what ever field (archelogy, psychologyc computer sciences etc).

Meanwhile the 50,000 member American Geophysical Union have stood since 2003 behind the staement that "human activities are increasingly altering the Earth's climate... natural influences cannot explain the rapid increase in global near-surface temperatures observed during the second half of the 20th century".
