Another piece to the puzzle... Here we watch me assemble an external hard drive and hook it up to my iTunes server as a Time Machine drive to back up my media library.

A number of people have asked: the ministack case is available from Other World Computing - web site http://www.macsales.com

  • I can see the IR from the remote in the lens!

  • Yes, you can. The sensors in video cameras take that IR and shift it to the visible spectrum.

Once I had a pile of remotes (I was working at a school) and we had to determine which were and weren't working. I opened up a MacBook, fired up the camera, and pointed each one at the screen. If we saw the flicker, it was good; if not, new batteries went in.

  • at 18 he does not show us somthing its eaither a apple tv remote or a vibrator

  • Fry's sells vibrators?

  • Quick question, why is the camera moving (ever so slightly, it's more obvious in the sped up footage) if it's on a tripod? What's causing the movement? Just curious. Always enjoy your videos.

  • I used to work someplace where the standard greeting wasn't "Hello", or "Hi", it was "Quick question...". Hmmm, do I know you? :-)

I noticed it too. That was filmed in my bedroom. The tripod was actually on my bed, and it's a older, somewhat bigger camera. Maybe the tape motor is wobbling the camera, maybe the ceiling fan was doing something, I don't know. I'll re-arrange things for a more solid footing next time...

  • To recover a deleted iTunes library you can also use De-Tunes to send the library from an iPod to your Mac. I used it once for a couple of songs ; you can either recover one song or your complete music library and everything in between. The iPod is then seen by the Mac as an external hard drive.
