  • Do any "Ol Timer" remember a White Mustang. When I was a babe I remember an old White that sat behind one of the shops my Daddy worked at. It had big "butterfly" front fenders and a very narrow grille. I remember it had a rearing horse and the word mustang on either side of the body. I have not been able to even find a reference as to White making a Mustang model. I thought that was the most beautiful truck, blemishes and all. I would love to restore one and use it to go get a Slurpy from 7-11.
  • Check my other videos. I have a video on my '57 WC 22 that is like the truck you're thinking of. You can buy the Mustang hood ornament on ebay.

  • White was built by White Motor Company. Freightliner was built by Freightliner Corporation. They had a marketing arrangement with White to sell and service their trucks. That ended about 1977. Freightliner was bought by Daimler and White was bought by Volvo.

  • What engine?

  • 220 Cummins

  • nice rig what transmision do you have in her?

  • It's a Fuller R96 10 speed. I've been working on the truck for a year now, just got it inspected and legal for the road.

  • I hope it stays original.

  • Keep the NH220, you don't hear naturaly aspirated engines very much anymore. I think this one has a back drop exahust manifold..

  • White made the 6-200A Super Mustang engine for the White Model 906-4F. It was a gasoline engine ( 6 cylinder) with 400 cubic inch capacity producing 182 bhp. That's what the name 'Mustang' eluded too.

  • Nice sounding truck the gear shift lever brings back memories.

  • @heatherrose2006 A White Mustang was just sitting in a yard next to my job...I'll let you know if it's still there.

  • Those whites all sound the same my dad had a 1973 4000

  • Very nice truck my friend. this brings back memories. i had learned to drive a big truck in one like this ( practice runs in a yard and short road runs)

  • @heatherrose2006 I used to drive a White Mustang. It was turned into a yard horse. We moved trailers in the yard with it. It had a gas engine and 5 speed trans with 2 speed rear end. Pretty good old truck.

  • my Grandpa had one just like this one ang he taught me to drive it on an ole dirt road

  • My Daddy learned in the '60's and he taught me in the 70's. :-D

  • Most truck and bus line operators in 40s-60s would do the opposite, i.e., fire the heckoutta anyone found NOT using a clutch.:)

  • 10-speed..love to see the peg/pull buttons on the sticks, those old 10-sp.ones, or maybe it's 5 speed trans. 2 speed rear.
