It was my great pleasure to become a some what close friend of Donalds back in 1970 a friendship that lasted for many years.He is in my opinion one of the great water men that shaped a generation of surfers on the north coast of San Diego County.one of the great local gathering during the summer were the annual Stone Steps contest.Each heat chug a small bucket of beer finals chug a small bucket.Donald won it like 3 years in a row the last year he won it he mooned the crowd.A classic guy.
