I know David Ryan and my Mom (grew up in Defiance) knew the whole family. The ole man Ryan used to go out and drinking with my Grandfather. I remember grandma telling me how some ole man named Ryan was riding in my Grandpas old surplus sale WWII issue motorcycle (with a sidecar)......they apparently were so drunk one night that they smacked into the apple tree in the back yard and wrecked. They lived right off of Ralston street. I hope the old tree is still there. Best apples I ever ate.
The movie is a triumph of the human spirit...and the book is just as incredible...RIP Terry 'Tuff' Ryan for writing such a wonderfully honest, and funny portrayal of her life..and to Jane Anderson and Julianne Moore for bringing it to life on screen..
I have never seen a movie that stayed so true to the book. I love the book and have most of it memorized, and I am so happy with how the writers and actors portrayed everything. This is perfect. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to watch it.
What a beautiful movie. I am here crying. Thank you, Julianne Moore. It is because she stars this movie that I had the chance to know about it and watch it.
