@0ejmusik0 - A wise person once told me not to want things to be any different from the way they are. There is great wisdom in that, then you are not projecting an opposite. Yes, the world is a noisy place and you may find Tibet to be a disappointment to the image you are making of it. The issue is never external. There is no "there",that is the deception. The only place you will ever find peace in this world is within your self.....inner peace is clearly an internal issue - insist upon it.

It's not wise to look for a better place to be happy. Look around there are people who are not Buddhist monks in Tibet, just common people and they're happy. Happy place is always inside you waiting for you to find the way there

@COSMICBUM I was going to say something like this. Agreed. And it is possible to limit the distractions and give up the things that take you further away from yourself and from the earth. It's funny that I'm saying that while on my laptop, but disconnecting from technology helps a lot. And you have to find peace where you are and within.

@0ejmusik0 you dont have to move to Tibet to give those things up. You dont have to become Buddhist either to find inner peace. There are lots of forms that help you learn to quite the mind, even systems like Tai Chi, Yoga, AIkido and Zen teach it too, it's not just Buddhism.

Its Wisom from the Great Mind.
Does it resonate with you?
If your own desire of yor Soul is to be a monk by any means...go ahead, and do what your Souls says.
But when the time comes that it ibecomes tedious and boring, leave...leave and do something else.
You dol NOT have to ask anyone's permission to do so- just pack your things, and leave! And do something else.
The only permission you need is from your Soul.

@EarthaKit2 and please tell me how you know this, thank you

No Human being is supposed to withdraw from life, from the Marketplace. One is to BE part of Life. To experience ALL - to confront it - conquer it - and go on to the next bit.
Do NOT be a monk. But travel. See gthe beauty of the World - be part of it.
If you want poverty- give up all material possessions then and work your way around the world.
Do NOT be a monk and withdraw from All. You're not here for that.

No. Don't become a Buddhist monk. It's a hard boring life, with set schedules, rules/rites, and a begging bowl where you may or may not, be giving rice, grudgingly.
And you will sit there daily, and aNOT learn anything, but a vague memory, faded after millennia, on how to communinicate with God within. Memories of the REAL teachings of an Intermediary of the Great Mind.
You will not learn, 1-Who you are - Where you came from 3-Why you are here.

Often it crosses my mind to give up this earthly, busy, noisy, selfish, western lifestyle and move to Tibet (or similar land) and become a Buddhist monk. If anyone knows about living as a monk and living in Tibet please let me know. Thank you.
How does one become master of one's mind my with so much external noise surrounding oneself? How does one truly come to internal peace, filtering out all of the constant distractions being bombarded upon oneself by this western culture?

@0ejmusik0 Is the Sun always covered with the clouds? Is ultimate peace, happiness and harmony comes from outside? Can infinite space be blocked forever by some noise and distractions? When you are doing something good where does this feeling come from? Continue to asking yourself your own questions in a deep meditation - all night long if must - relax and focus at the same time and the answers will come.
