Hey, Zak, way to not get caught up in elaborate formulae, yet at the same time "go a little more in depth"! Do you think you could make your educational videos shorter in future - just cut out the irrelevant parts? Where you keep saying "So, I don't know...", those bits are fine.

well you got it nailed. A simple addition / substraction should really be basics for everyone. 5*

More precise statement of the comment below:
The true wind speed relative to the ground is always present. This is where the energy is tapped. This is independent of vehicle speed or direction.
-
The logic in the simplest way:
Regardless of the speed of the vehicle in any direction, the difference between the ground speed and the true wind speed always exists. All you have to do it tap this difference, there is no energy imbalance. Now go away and do your sums properly.

What about the Maccready machine? Referenced in "More with Less" by Paul Ciotti and well know amongst aero engineers. Ooh, sirry, that would mean you have to read a book! Toughy.

Amazing! Unless Zakamiro can find a web link it doesn't exist. Tell me, did you exist before you first appeared on the internet?
Look for the "Duncan Flutter Engine". Been around since the 1930s, iconic test kit, nothing on the web...

If the car wasn't moving faster than the wind, why was the flag flying backward during most of the ride? Why isn't there discussion about prop size/pitch, drive shaft (prop and wheels) diameter, etc..
hey zakamiro, to really understand how this works you need a little more advanced formulae, like diferential equations, etc. But dont worry they wont teach you that kind of math in junior high so its ok for you not to understand these advanced formulaes at this time. Meanwhile stop making a fool of yourself by posting stupid videos.

Just because a formula appears basic, doesn't mean it is. e = mc^2 may look basic, but it's not. :P Who said I was in junior high? :/ I'm sorry if formulae involving a simple a = b + c is considered an "advanced formula" to you.

I feel compelled to comment here, Zakamiro needs to drop the ignorant arrogance and learn to understand relaive motion correctly. I realise that it is a complete waste of time attempting to explain how moronic his explanation is so how about a list of other people who have successfully built devices like this:
Dr Paul Macready's team in the 1970s
The original Bauer machine.
Zakamiro is a fool.

Provide a link.

How can I provide a web link to events that happened before the web was invented and before you were probably born? Try research the old way, it actually takes effort which is out of fashion, but uses books and papers.

You'd think something as amazing as "THE LEGENDARY BAUER MACHINE" would have a link on the internet, somewhere. tell me, where do I start searching in books and papers for the machine? The internet is the BEST way to find information. How can historians provide web links about ancient Roman cities? Easy! They existed! And until I see a link to the "Bauer Machine", it doesn't exist.
