I'm Old Fashioned (Scat Version)

I'm often asked, "Max -- that's what they call me in Germany -- what do y'all do at Linhardt Audiokraaft?" It is latter in which the linked the video was deployed. Recently a plot to replace every "O" (the letter "O") with 0 (0 the number zero) in all internet text content was foiled with the audio in the video.

In this case, one of the perpetrators was forced to watch this video 24 hours a day, for three months -- he/she (I'm not allowed to say which) was a hard person to break. Before he/she went mad, a confession was obtained and any attempt to release the destructive virus to the web was halted.

How did this work? First of all, -- unlike CIA protocols -- our AI-104Z playback devices do not use extremely high sound pressure levels to do the job. Rather, it is the repetition of content that eventually destroys the subject's thought processes. Thus the acquisition of any pertinent information demanded by the inquisitor is facilitated.

The tune in the video is, of course, "I'm Old Fashioned" from the film "You Were Never Lovelier" (1942) Music by Jerome Kern, Lyrics by Johnny Mercer. At first, the lush harmonies draw in the subject's attention. But soon the novelty of the "Scat" patch from the Roland RD-700 wears off and continued listening becomes unbearable.
